Samsung has expanded its audio lineup with a mix of high-end soundbars and a surprising new range of Wi-Fi speakers, revealed at CES 2026. The company’s latest offerings include the flagship HW-Q990H soundbar, along with the innovative Music Studio 5 (LS50H) and Music Studio 7 (LS70H) Wi-Fi speakers, designed in collaboration with French designer Erwan Bouroullec.
New Wi-Fi Speakers: A Focus on Design and Spatial Audio
The standout addition is the Music Studio series. The LS50H, already recognized with a Best Audio award at CES 2026, features a compact 4-inch driver with dual tweeters, designed for a sleek aesthetic. The larger LS70H takes things further, offering 3.1.1-channel Dolby Atmos compatibility for immersive sound.
Both models can function independently or pair with other Samsung audio devices, including soundbars and TVs. They support high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio and include Bluetooth connectivity, positioning them as versatile home audio solutions.
Soundbar Updates: Enhanced Immersive Experience
Samsung also updated its soundbar range with the HW-Q990H, an 11.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos system. This model includes surround speakers and a dual 8-inch wireless subwoofer for deep bass. New features include “Sound Elevation,” which optimizes dialogue clarity, and “Auto Volume,” which maintains consistent audio levels across channels.
The HW-QS90H offers a more streamlined single-speaker setup with 7.1.2 channels, featuring integrated subwoofers and a unique “Convertible Fit” design. This soundbar uses a built-in gyro sensor to adjust the audio profile based on whether it’s wall-mounted or placed on an AV rack, ensuring optimal performance in any setup.
Why This Matters
Samsung’s push into high-end audio reflects a broader trend among tech companies: audio quality is no longer an afterthought. The integration of Dolby Atmos and spatial audio technologies signals a shift toward more immersive home entertainment experiences. The Wi-Fi speakers, in particular, are notable because they directly compete with established players like Sonos, challenging the dominance of existing multi-room audio ecosystems.
The design collaboration with Erwan Bouroullec also underscores Samsung’s desire to position its audio products as premium lifestyle items, not just functional tech.
Availability and pricing details for the new speakers and soundbars remain unconfirmed. However, these announcements suggest that Samsung intends to maintain its position as a leader in the high-end audio market, blending cutting-edge technology with striking design.
