How It Works: Blurring Your Home

- Navigate to Your Address: Open maps.google.com and enter your home address in the search bar. Click the Street View image that appears in the results.
- Report a Problem: Locate and click the tiny “Report a Problem” link at the bottom-right of the Street View window. It’s easy to miss, but crucial.
- Adjust the Blur Box: A red-and-black box will appear. Use your mouse to drag, zoom, and resize it until it completely encompasses the areas you want blurred: your house, yard, or any other visible features.

- Provide Details and Submit: Google requires an email address for verification. Fill out the form, complete the CAPTCHA if necessary, and click submit.
What to Expect After Submitting Your Request
Once submitted, Google will review your report. You will receive an email confirming receipt, but there is no set processing time. The process can take an indefinite amount of time as Google manually reviews each request. You might receive additional emails asking for more details; respond promptly to avoid delays.
Important Note: Blurring is permanent. Once applied, the changes cannot be reversed. Double-check your selection before submitting to ensure you’re only blurring what you intend.
